Funds are used for commissioning ALAANA (African, Latinx, Asian, Arab, and Native American) composers and supporting travel for performances, workshops, and engagements with community members, university students, and middle and high school students. By commissioning, performing, and recording the music of ALAANA composers, the Bardin-Niskala Duo provides a voice to under-represented groups while highlighting the inherent equal worth of all identities and communities.
